The cottage industry not only gives employment to women but also empowers them in the sense that they no longer need to be a subordinate to their male members for socio- economic causes. It provides a broader opportunity for women to raise their standard of life on their own.
It is a well-known fact that cottage industries can play a significant role in the development of an economy. High degree of female labor force participation in this sector has also been proved in the number of surveys. Which seems to be helpful in the process of reduction of poverty especially in the rural areas.
